IDY! The Gauntlet: Phase 1

This is a new contest that will only run for a couple months (hopefully more). It will consist of 6 mandatory phases, and a 7th optional one. These phases will each take place in a different forum. Here is a list of the phase numbers and the forums they'll be in:


Phase 1- New Card/Set Ideas
Phase 2- Rumor Mill
Phase 3- Magic Software
Phase 4- Casual Magic Decks for Critique
Phase 5- Storylines
Phase 6- Coliseum
Phase 7 (optional)- Add-a-Story


So, what do we do? Well, first I need a minimum of three teams of 4 people each. These teams will need a team name. I will wait until I have 3 teams, then leave a one week waiting period for more teams.

When your teams are organized, pick a person who will report here and say whose on their team and whats it's called.

Then when each team is organized, I will give each team 5 partial names. They will be required to be made into legendary creatures (just don't use that word). There will be one legend for each color. Then after each team submits their entries, I'll put up a poll, and the teams will get to chose one allied color combination, one enemy color combination, and one of their choice. They will have to make 3 more legends (one for each color combo) based on the names I give you for your combos. Then I'll put up a poll. Then each team will have to choose one of the legends they made and make an artifact and a land card for that legend (which'll represent an item belonging to it, and it's homeland respectively). Then I'll put up the polls, and we'll move onto Phase 2.

Ok, so we have our three teams. I'll wait one more week (unless someone PM's me telling me they want to play but can't find another member(s), then I'll wait).

VB: No I don't, but the only one I think will be a problem when I get to it is the Rumor mill. The others have something to do with the forum they are in (hint, hint, hint)

Now that it's been a week since the third team joined, it is time to begin The Gauntlet!

Phase 1, as said before, will come in three parts. For this part, I will post below five titles. You and your team have to use these titles and give them a first name to make five legends. These legends will all have to be a certain color.

Here are the titles and colors you will have to use:

White- _____, the Benevolent
Blue- _____, the Trickster
Black- _____, the Despoiler
Red- _____, the Defiant
Green- _____, the Colossus

Each team will have 1 month (or until all entries are in) to submit all five legends.
Each team should choose a different member than the one who first posted here (but is not required to) to post their entries (just to be fair to the others)

Remember, you will be using all the cards you create at a later phase

Ta'alule, the Trickster 2UUU
Creature - Wizard Legend
Whenever a spell or ability is put onto the stack, if that spell or ability could target Ta'alule, the Trickster, it must have Ta'alule as at least one of its targets.
UU, Tap, Sacrifice an Island: Change one of the targets of target spell or ability targeting Ta'alule.
She is known by many names. The most famous one is luck.

Vergil, the Despoiler 3BBB
Creature - Vampire Legend
Whenever a creature damaged by Vergil, the Despoiler this turn is put into a graveyard from play, put a +1/+1 counter on Vergil.
Whenever Vergil deals combat damage to a player, lands that player controls become swamps until Vergil leaves play.
His fangs penetrate more than just necks.

Creature - Barbarian Legend
Haste, double strike.
Creatures damaged by Serafina, the Defiant can't be regenerated this turn.
Damage dealt by Serafina, the Defiant can't be prevented.
"Leave my path before I lose my patience. Too late."

Ahnak, the Colossus 4GG
Creature - Wolf Giant Legend
Trample
Whenever you play a land, put a +1/+1 counter on Ahnak, the Colossus.
At the end of your turn, if you didn't play a land this turn, remove all +1/+1 counters from Ahnak.

Isn't it time to move on to the next part? I mean, if dew's team can't sumbit it in a month, then they should get dropped or negative points or something.

Okay, I just got Merridew's teams submissions and I am going to reveal part two of Phase 1.

Each team will PM me and name 3 color combinations. One allied (WU, UB, BR, RG, GW), one enemy (WB, BG, GU, UR, RW), and one of either. Then I will PM them back the names and the teams will have to create a legend for each name, much like the first part. As the last part, teams have until April 15th to submit their 3 legends (after getting their colors of course.)

The next portion of the Gauntlet begins now!
