History of Stasis and Fay Jones

Sorry if this has been answered before but i need some advice on the Stasis Card: Who is Fay Jones? Why just one card made for Magic, just one card ever?.

If I remember correctly, Fay Jones is related to Garfield, or something like that.

Doesn't matter though, it's the most original art ever, after all, what could more encompas the thought of Stasis more than a guy with a dunce cap and an easel playing see-saw with a jackel with a beachball?

I hope she gets another pic someday!
