Hell, guys, we need to get this guy something. We need to do something for him. He said it himself; he sent thousands of dollars on this website and spent many hours working on it! We need to do anything we possibly can to rebuild this site. Also, I noticed DG said that he has an option to leave this site weak or to shut it down. It's better to have something than nothing, so i dont care what happens here!! We need spoilers!!! We need deck critiques!! DG gave us all of those!!! Now let's do something for him!!!

Obviously, post some suggestions!!!

How about we give him what he wants Mtgnews to live on forever.... Under another site banner if need be.

Maybe we could put something in our signature on whatever site we go to next.

On MTGlair, I have something like "Thanks for your effots, DG. MTGnews was great" in my signature.

It's the least we can do.

the only thing i can think of as a present for DG is giving him every single dollar back that he spent on this webiste for US.

You know what, one dollar from every single person here is not a bad idea. Heck, I'm sure as hell giving him a dollar!

thats what i was thinking!

If everyone sends a dollar, that would be around 4000 dollars. Maybe it can't keep up the site, but it can pay back a lot of money used on this site.

P.S. Note the use of "used money" instead of "wasted money".

Magic Dude, read DG's post on the main site. He was loosing THOUSANDS of dollars on the site. That's probably more than you have had in your entire life. DG is losing money, and your saying it's his fault? I completely agree with illbeleavinnow's comment.

Hey, I made this avatar in tribute to DG, anyone that wants it, go ahead and take it.

I am very grateful to DG for the work he has done, but (and I don't want to sound insulting, seeing as i don't know exactly what work he had done before the announcement to raise revenue) I think that he should have instituted some sort of pervasive add system far sooner. With the popping of the .com bubble, advertising on websites went from a relatively reliable source of revnue, to a shaky, but stable one. If he could have secured some decent customers, he might have been able to hold out. In the end, however, I think MTGnews was doomed to fail. There simply isn't a place for kind-hearted philanthopy on the net anymore.

Thanks DG for doing whatever you could!
