Could domain, or some updated version of it do well with the new decks' weird manabases? I was thinking destructive flow main to stop the multicolored deck's nonbasics and global ruin to punish the monoblack decks. If not that then maybe some form of hippo control w/ global ruin?

I just dont think its viable with all the other deck types out. If they counter your harrow it sort of blows!

The point is that it won't be the same as the pre-odyssey version. There are lots of new cards that could fit in to deal with the new problems.

I think Domain would have EXTREME issues with Braids based decks.

Braids wouldn't cause the sacrifice of a Teferi's moat, and domain can usually put out lands fast enough. Assuming braids is played fourth turn, you'd already have out six lands and one or two cretures.

And in addition, global ruin whenever they get to 3 land makes them ver mad (recur w/ holitic wiz)

Domain has so much mana excel it can usually keep up. Braids sorta sits there staring at Collective Restraint while Far Wanderings puts 3 lands in play.

I just got first last night with my version of Lucky Charms/Rice Snacks...

Didnt have problems with Braids...sure she is a bitch, but running 24 lands and 4 Rampant Growths let me keep up. Eventually my opponent saced the braids, since i had restraints out...

Had some problem with Junk though...damn hand destruction...

I dont think it could work, well....er maybe with wild research or something like that.

It wouldn't need wild research. With global ruin to ruin more or less any mono-colored deck and most two-color decks, and collective restraint/teferis moat/divert to slow down the aggressive decks, there isn't that much it can't handle.

Thats a little late, umm.. with Torment, the three color decks stepped to the side because its hard on a manabase when you have to outspeed the madness decks. There are some still out there but they are more of just splashin...

My Domain deck seems to handle madness decks pretty well, I use only one restraint and SB one. It all lies in Holistic Wisdom, you really dont even need to run full out domain, just splash BR for terminate, Verdict, maybe Vindicate, Fire/Ice, and Pro Bolt. The kill in it is Pro bolt, Ghitu Fire snacks holdds you down to playing certain inappropriate cards (IE, Early Harvest, Restock, etc). If you can get a pro bolt to go off, chances are you will get the card in the 4 to get it back. Well, any way, I dont really think domain can stand real well i nthis format right now(which crackhead made Enchant Edict? ). Holistic Wisdom on counter hurts, but against any beater, it shines like a bulb fighting for brightness.

Why don't you think it works? the most important cards in domain: global ruin and collective restraint severely hurt all the other competitive decks out there, and it usually gets whatever card it needs for the situation with cards like worldly counsel and tainted pact. If you don't believe me, take a domain deck to regionals and see.

There was an article on sideboard that explained a little about how the deck works. If you won't believe me, will you believe Brian Kibler?
