Sunburst Mechanic NOT returning

According to the man himself mark rosewater via his twitter page, sunburst is not a returning mechanic for this new set scars of mirrodin and we will more then likely see modular or affinity be more apparent due to this artifact like set, thoughts?

Myr Cycle being Reprinted

As speculated by the discovery of silver myr, we could end up having the myr cycle in general reprinted, so what do you hope ends up getting reprinted for scars of mirrodin?

[SOM] Silver Myr

There's a lot of discussion that Silver Myr has been reprinted. There's nothing official yet, but figured I'd give everyone the heads up. As soon as more concrete evidence comes up I'll update this post.

Outside looking in: A Grand Prix D.C. Report *68th*

[color=blue]Well, for those of you interested, I decided to write a tournament report for my experience at Grand Prix: Washington D.C. Ever since I had heard there was a Grand Prix coming to the area I was excited. I live about 50 miles west of D.C., so naturally, I wanted the chance to play. I knew going into the tournament weekend that I wanted to play Mythic Bant. I felt really confident in my ability to pilot the deck and had just come off a fresh top 8 of my previous PTQ with it. After the Nationals Qualifiers, which I skipped, the deck exploded in popularity. Now, for those of you who know about Mythic, the deck does not run much removal. Most of the removal consists of Gideon Jura and Jace, the Mind Sculptor. This was fine for me in the main deck, but I knew the deck would be tough to win with if someone got a creature out that I couldn't deal with. As you will see, that is the biggest downside to the deck that I have found.

State of the Foil Address

Over the years promotional cards (promos) have had many high and low points. However, recent events such as Devin Low’s poll in the article MerFolklore reveal Eternal formats to be nearly as popular as Standard, and so I think Wizards of the Coast need to further re-evaluate their promo policies.

Infinity Plus One: Going Rogue

Do you remember all those years ago when you discovered Magic The Gathering? Do you remember every buying your first preconstructed deck, excitedly going through the cards and just couldn't wait to try them out. Do you remember building your first deck, almost wetting your pants over being unable to wait to use it. Do you remember walking into your first tournament with your new creation, and then promptly getting slugged every freakin' game?
