Kind of, she dissapeared because phage had a previous form other than phage and akroma's previous form was a thought in a dead mind

you can think that, but you would be incorrect.

akroma, phage & zagorka were all destroyed in the cataclysmic blow from the soul reaver (whatever the axe's name was) delivered by Kamahl that created Karona.

When Karona was killed by Waistcoat & Sash, only Jeska was left as an ascended Planeswalker.

Akroma no longer exists.

thought zagorka jumped off a tower and committed suicide

Gelcur 08-16-04 21:09

That she did but as she was falling Kamahl killed her as well. The reason that Jeska was the only one left over was because she was the one with the spark.

why didn't she ascend when she was hit with the reaver? or when she died by kamahls sword, or when she was embraced by the first... etc...

He already had the spark at that time. That's why any of those didn't kill her like they obviously killed everyone else easily. Karn said at the end of Scourge:
"The first stroke of the Mirari sword should have killed you, but it didn't. The Soul Reaper that unmade Akroma and Zagorka should have unmade you. but it didn't" "You became the conduit for all magic on Dominaria, rose to become a goddess, and even survived the Mirari sword again... all for one reason."
"Macht," she said wearily. "I'm not a goddess, not anymore."
"No. You're a planeswalker."

My theory is that akroma and zagorka died when kamahl hit them all, but jeska is the only one that became Karona. As Karona, she could planeswalk because the mortals thought she could. When Kamahl got her with the Mirari Sword, she became Jeska again, and as she was dying she ascended.

Also, I would like to see Jeska reappear in the storyline sometime...

Karona was the melding of the three "Mothers of the Numena", which I believe was explained by Lowallyn. Akroma and Zagorka definately didn't "die" though, since it was blatantly stated by King that their souls were melded together by Kamahl's axe.

Xantcha 09-05-04 12:15

Hmmm.... then when Karona died did the Akroma and Zagorka parts just die off, along with Phage, which just leaves Jeska ascending?

Dusk_ 09-05-04 13:26

Phage is Jeska. But yes, according to Karn, that's what happened.

Xantcha 09-06-04 00:15

I get the part where Phage is Jeska, but I mean that the Phage part(if you can call it that) of Jeska died off because Jeska had a spark but Phage didn't, or was there another way that Jeska wasn't Phage anymore..?

I get the part about Akroma and Zagorka, just not Phage/Jeska

Dusk_ 09-06-04 01:27

From what I understood, Jeska and Phage weren't two seperate entities, and the only reason why one wasn't the other was because of corruption from the First. Although, there's probably some line in the book that'll come and bite me in the butt...

Xantcha 09-06-04 18:32

Hmmm.... why did Jeska stop being Phage then?
Edit: once the corruption stopped, Phage stopped?
