ok, the hondens have bolth got to go. get it BOLTH OF THEM. there's no point in putting them in there. Put another Meloku, or Rude in instead. And if your gonna splash U into b/g death cloud, at least put some echoing truths in there......
*eyes dart suspiciously side to side*....we seem to be missing someone? ...wheres Kokusho? |
I'm confused. Is this a deck Kai created? If so, a link would be delightful. If it's just something you threw together I'll just have to through it into casual.

Plenty_Purple: It is a deck that Kai built. I don't know if it is on brainburst or not, but it is in a newletter called TCGplayer.com. I got it at a cardstore today and their is an article that Kai wrote about the new T2. He talks about the decks that might be strong in the new enviroment. He also has this BG cloud deck in the article along with a MUC deck

Assuming that this is, indeed, a decklist that Kai Budde came up with, I guess this is one of the reasons why you rarely get to see him at the top 8 spots of extended tournaments. It doesn't take a former legend to figure out running cards like diabolic tutor or hondens is a bad idea - for hondens, especially when people will start meta gaming against shackles / enchantments with naturalize.
The deck gets out insane amount of mana / land fast, but with only one copy of meloku and rude awakening, it seems quite unlikely that either of them will resolve or stay alive. MUC and GU already has built in protection vs. meloku with shackles and evacuation for rude awakening. MBC will simply rend flesh Meloku and give all the animated lands a nice spread of -2/-2 with hideous laugther. The deck basically works like a castrated BG, and I'm sure a lot of people from BG threads are crying blood from their eyes right now. |

No its not, I made it myself and was very very bored so for the hell of it i decided to post and say it was kai, even though im not benefiting in anyway whatsoever. Sorry, my mistake............. * end sarcasm Are you asking for a warning? If so, don't be afraid to be a bit more direct. There was no need for sarcasm. This all could have been avoided if you had followed the rules of the forum, which are posted at the top of the page. Now, I am going to let this slide just this once but if you make another post that contributes nothing to the thread you will recieve a spam warning. -P_P |
To end this part of the discussion, yes, this deck is from an article by Kai.
You can find it on Brainburst Premium, 03/10/05, "After the ban - The new standard". But: a) This deck is a crap IMO. Even if it's from Kai, it's damn bad. b) A friend of mine tested it, and ended up cutting both the Honden and the Diabolic Tutors. They are simply not viable. The splash for Meloku is great. Greetings Mac |
I'm pretty sure that Kai just submits these decks for easy money, then laughs when people actually play against him with 'his' netdeck. Honestly, Kai hasn't posted a good deck since he (basically) created Cunning Wake like 3 years ago...but alot of great players aren't really that good at deck design..they let someone else build they decks, and just play them. Maher is a classic example of this.

This deck is a complete joke, and the random Hondens prove it. There's a rant about the quality of Brainburst articles and Kai Budde in here, but I'll take the high road and keep quiet.
