Could somebody tell me what happened to Multani? Is he still alive in Apocalypse?

Thanks a lot

Tocasia 05-15-01 09:33

Multitude

Multani is mentioned in the flavour text of at least one Apocalypse card: Jungle Barrier. He transports Yavimaya to Urborg to create a protective barrier.

a ha

So he's still alive...
Nice
I like him. ^_^

Snowkeeper 05-15-01 09:48

Is he still part of Weatherlight?
The ship looks more metallic every time it "transforms".

Philosofikal 05-15-01 11:21

?

When was Multani part of the weatherlight?
Why was he " " " " " " ?

Instead of those novels they should've just put some more of those little story books in the tournament packs. I think the novels are just some money-making scheme...I have to buy the books to know the story behind the game I'm playing... pfff

Snowkeeper 05-15-01 13:17

Exactly...
well, they do have some little books(but they are really tiny) that describe the story, but the little books are just tricks to make you buy the big ones. :)

Way back when, if I'm not mistaken, Multani provided Urza with a seed (I forget its exact name) and from that seed, the hull of the Weatherlight was created. At the moment (planeshift) Multani has become a part of the ship (much like Karn) and provides repairs to the ship after battles.

That is all.

Sleeper Agent 05-19-01 17:12

at a few points in the planeshift novel, multani flows into the weatherlight and repairs it.

and yeah, he's alive...I hope he makes it, too!

Philosofikal 05-20-01 06:30

Thanks for clearing that up, let's hope multani will live to see oddessy ^_^

Snowkeeper 05-20-01 07:01

That's called weatherseed (guarded by something called weatherseed treefolks, I think).
Anyway Multani will survive as long as Yavimaya does.
*fingers crossed*

magicfreak 05-29-01 23:35

I don't think Wotc will kill or get rid of Multani from the storyline. Multani is like the main character for green mana creatures not counting Eladrami. Anyway I hope he is still alive and part of the weatherlight

Gerrard Capashen 06-04-01 03:18

What is Multani anyway?

I know he's a Maro Soccerer
BUT WHAT IS HE?

rhox 06-04-01 06:53

about multani

multani is supposed to be the spirit of yavimaya, like titania was of argoth and molimo is of lanowar. he can manifest himself in a humanoid form of roots, bark and leaves etc, which is the usual picture of him, and he can flow into organic stuff to repair it. he presented urza with the weatherseed, part of the Weatherlight .

not much, but hope you find something!

More Maro

The flavour text of the original Maro card in Mirage says something like "No two see the same maro." In other words, maros do not have a definite corporeal form but are perceived differently according to each viewer. (The viewer might also perceive a different appearance at different times, although this is supposition.)

The images we see in the card artwork of Multani, Molimo (and perhaps other spirits such as Titania) are therefore not necessarily their actual appearance. Obviously the art developers had to come up with an identifiable look for the characters but this has to be taken as artistic licence rather than a true representation of the story's internal reality.

Anyways, just look at Multani's card in UL and Rofellos's Gift in UD, they both feature Multani, but looking completely different.
