Quest for Pure Flame ?

I have 2 Quest for Pure Flame's in play with 4 counters on each, and I activate both of them.
When I attack with a 2/2 creature, does it deal 6 points of damage, or 8 points of damage?

8. Removing four counters from both of two Quest for Pure Flames would give you two replacement effects, both "If any source you control would deal damage to a creature or player this turn, it deals double that damage to that creature or player instead." So if a source you control would deal 2, and since it would deal 4, and if it would deal 4, it would deal 8.

If you removed four counters from each of three Quest for Pure Flames, a source that would normally deal 2 would deal 16. And so on.
