[EDH]Crosis, the Purger

This is my first take at a EDH deck. I haven't had a lot of time to read a lot of articles, but I think this could be fun. This is a pure casual deck, so a lot of cards I'm going to proxy. Should be cool/fun.

Apprentice Download OCTGN Download MTGO Download
Crosis, the Purger

1 Crosis, the Purger

Lands : 37
1 Lotus Bloom
1 Mistvein Borderpost

1 Scalding Tarn
1 Vesuva
1 Vivid Creek
1 Vivid Marsh
1 Steam Vents
1 Underground River
1 Watery Grave
6 Swamp
6 Island
6 Mountain

Creatures : 20

1 Shunt
1 Swerve
1 Sorin Markov
1 Jace Beleren
1 Liliana Vess
1 Temporal Extortion
1 Time Warp
1 Mirari
1 Panoptic Mirror

So that's the deck. I'd like to spin off of using Panoptic Mirror/Mirari with Time Warp or Temporal Extortion to get multiple turns and lock out the game. And dig out a players hand and use their own creatures. Kinda odd, but it's just for fun.

Panoptic Mirror is banned in EDH, presumably for the reason you demonstrated there: infinite turn combos are not fun.

Before I suggest any cards, is this for 1vs1 or multiplayer games? EDH is supposed to be a multiplayer format, but you seem to be playing many cards that aren't very good in multiplayer games. (Most of your spot removal and counterspells, for example.)

Most of the guys here play 1v1. So that's why that's in there. Ok didn't know about Panoptic... which is cool I can just add another land since I wasn't comfortable at 36.

Should have made a note. I want to stick with most cards being from Time Spiral and newer.

Alright. That's a shame, because I have a looong list of cards in my mind that are good in multiplayer EDH (mainly black, because I have a Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed deck), but don't know so much about 1vs1 EDH. Really, there's not much I can contribute now, but I'll state some of the most obvious things and give some card suggestions.

Hellspark Elemental is just horrible in this format, 1vs1 or not. When you start the game with 40 life, you're just happy to see your opponent wasting a card on something as small as this. Put Away is a 4-mana Cancel with a very situational bonus, and Cancel is also bad. Dismiss and Hinder are almost stricly better than those cards. Hinder is especially good because it can send someone's general to the bottom of their library. Browbeat is... well, imagine a sorcery that says "~ deals 3 damage to target player." That card would be better in T2 than Browbeat is in EDH.

There are many other cards in the deck that I don't like, but I generally hate trying to help people with budget decks (if this isn't one, it certainly looks like one), and - like I said - I don't know anything about 1vs1 EDH, so I'll just keep my thoughts to myself. I can, however, suggest some more cards like I promised:

Bribery
Acquire
Gilded Lotus
Duplicant
Expedition Map
Tolaria West (finds lands or Ancestral Vision)
Phyrexian Arena
Rhystic Study (fine, it's only really good in multiplayer, but it's so good there I just had to mention it)
Decree of Pain
Mystical Teachings
Crosis's Charm (duh)

Those are some of the budget cards I could think of right now. I'm sure there are more, but really, you can find most of them by looking at other B/R/U decklists.

Yeah this is going to be pretty budget, but those ideas sound pretty damn good. I'll have to try some of them out and see how I like them. Thanks a lot for taking a look at the deck.

So now that I'm thinking about it. Can you steal somebodies General with Bribery if the General is in the graveyard?

No, because Bribery has nothing to do with graveyards.

You can, however, steal their general from their library with Bribery. Stealing it from their graveyard is also possible with something like Ashen Powder or Beacon of Unrest. The problem is that most people won't let their general hit their graveyard unless it's Child of Alara or something.
