Pizza!

I saw the Burgers thread, and felt it time to make - another Pizza thread! Huzzah!

In Somerset, my old haunt, there's an old pizza place west of town (been around since at least the 80s, as far as I can remember) called Mr. D's, and the joint makes what are by far my favorite local pizzas. ...Place keeps odd hours, though, so...anyway.

Whenever I'm in Nancy, I often pick up a delicious personal supreme (with pineapples) from Mill Springs Pizza Express. So damn good! Crust is perfect, toppings are great - cheesy - an excellent, filling pizza.

As far as chains go - Papa John's and Donato's are all right, and Pizza Hut can be eaten if I'm in a certain mood. I just avoid Domino's, though. Looks bad, tastes bad. Tastes bad.

So what of everyone else's favorite pizza eateries?

Well?

Next time I am in Sometset I will try to remember Mr. D's is the place for pizza (or even better I may just have my granparents bring some home with them).

Locally there is a Tasty Pizza that I really like but most of the big chains pizza I don't really care for.

I have a couple of favourites.

Santa maria, an independent (owned by my friend's family actually) 24-hour restaurant in Thompson. Fantastic pizza.

But my absolute favourite is my mom's homemade. Mmm, I'll be eating it in a few days.

I've always been a big fan of Godfather's Pizza. I don't have any near me, unfortunately, so I usually go with Papa Johns because it's pretty good too. I love their garlic sauce.

I'm so envious. She always kicks me out after breakfast.

I really like this little place called All-Star Pizza in Fraser, MI. Great food all around and their pepperoni and feta cheese cheesy bread is amazing.

Whos mom are you talking about?

I tried for pizza tonight, but my wife said it's too many calories for us since we've both been working out. Le sigh, Subway again...I've already lost 10 lbs (to 211) in the past few weeks so I think I'll sneak some pizza in behind her back .

While not exactly close to me, there's a place in Stoughton, MA I used to hit up once in a while called Town Spa Pizza. Great for those really greasy, nasty "I just wanna rub my face in it" pizzas. You could gain 10 lbs just breathing in the fumes. And oddly enough, Bobby Brown used to frequent it before and after his drug busts, lol.

There's a "chain" (really just three locations) called "Uncle Tony's Pizza" that has a great authentic Italian menu and their pizza is really good too. We use them to cater my kids' birthday parties because they offer ridiculously good "sauce pies" (pizza with no cheese - bakery style but hot). They're vegan, too, and some of my family adhere to that dietary restriction.

For general delivery, I use Papa John's. Typically I'll go with either chicken and pineapple or pepperoni with spicy sausage.

There's another local place called "Master Pizza" that has arguably the best buffalo chicken sub I've ever tried, and they serve it with steak fries which is extra awesome.

Since the school I go to is podunk, there isnt really a good pizza selection. However, there is pretty good pizza at Marvins (home of the famous GCB in case anyone's heard of it. I wont be offended if you havent). When I order I usually go with Pizza Hut or Dominoes, whose new pizza is infinitely better than their old pizza. The first time I had it I almost cried.

Back home though, we have this place called Tommy J's where the guy gets fresh ingredients every day for his pizzas. The funny thing is, its pretty deep in the Anderson Ghetto, so you'd never expect anything from it really, but many people that I've talked to that have had it call it the best pizza they've ever had. I personally am a fan of Mancino's pizza, and I especially love their breadsticks.

We also have Arts pizza in Anderson which is pretty famous at least in Central Indiana, and I've talked to some people out of state who know about it. Its alright I guess, but their more well known for their Italian Roast Beef than for their pizza.

Like Jon, one of my faves is the local Mr D's. After that I have to go Pappa Johns, Donatos, and then Pizza Hut. Havent tried the new Dominos, but hated the old pizzas.

I'm in the process of trying to insure a new pizza place, so if I do, that will be my new favorite .
